Acupuncture treats for any imbalances in the organ systems according to Chinese medicine, as well as help the baby to engage if need be, starts to ripen the cervix, relax muscles and tendons and calm the mind and spirit.

This class emphasizes preparation for natural childbirth, informed decision making, and joyful parenting. Families planning home or hospital births are welcome. Classes are small, fun and informative. Making friends, sharing concerns and answering questions are always a priority.
Receipt and Certificate of Completetion provided. Most insurance companies will reimburse you for 75-100% of any childbirth preparation class taken at Cradle.
Class covers:
• all aspects of pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum
• the anatomy and physiology of late pregnancy
• the physical and emotional elements of the labor and birth process
• signs and stages of labor
• common complications and options for dealing with them as well as techniques for promoting positive communication with your midwife or OB
• when to contact your cargiver in labor
• a focus on natural coping methods such as relaxation, breathing and massage with opportunities to practice them
• basic information about pharmaceutical methods of pain relief and cesarean will be briefly discussed
•several films on birth will be utilized for this class
•essentials of newborn care
