Nancy Carter-Price, RMT, KRM, PPD, RLSP
I am a Reiki Master/Teacher and have practiced Reiki since 1998 throughout the Pioneer Valley. I received my training in both Usui Reiki and Karuna Reiki ® in January of 1998 at Holyoke Community College, Holyoke, MA. I received training in Postpartum Doula care in 1999 through, Hearts and Hands, Hampden, MA, and joined the Postpartum Doula Services of Cooley Dickinson Hospital in 2000 offering my Doula and Reiki services to local families until the program’s end in 2006. I have maintained a local, private Reiki and Postpartum Doula practice ever since. In late 2000, I began incorporating Reiki Labor Support services as a Reiki Labor Support Practitioner for families who wished to utilize this modality during their labor and births and will continue to offer this valuable tool so families experience’s may be more comfortable and relaxing.
I believe with my extensive background working with families, newborns and young children that I am able to bring a valuable sense of peace and integrity to my families. Further empowering them in their making of decisions, their abilities in which to maneuver within the often chaotic and stressful times that surround pregnancy, labor, birth and the postpartum period at home when everyone is adjusting to new roles. Reiki supports this process in a loving, nurturing and safe way so that all family members may benefit from the wonders of this healing energy.
As a mother of 5 and a grandmother of 5, I know first hand the value of comprehensive and inclusive “tools” in which to have available for the entire family. I look forward to assisting you and your family during this special time using the gentle touch of Reiki to ease the stresses, and physical discomforts that often accompany pregnancy, labor and the postpartum period.

In addition to providing Reiki Services at Cradle, I am also a postpartum doula.
A postpartum doula is someone who goes into the home after the birth of your Baby to assist you in maneuvering through the new role of being a mother. She is someone who will offer guidance and encouragement; assist you in the bonding of your new family whether it is your first or fifth baby. She is there to guide you with breast / bottle-feeding and bathing techniques. She will do light housekeeping / laundry for mother and baby and some cooking. She is there to listen to your birth story or your concerns.
Your doula is available to be with baby so you may get the much-needed rest that is often in short supply after you return home. She is your extra pair of hands, she is a sounding board, and will run interference with family and friends who although are well meaning in their actions can add to mom’s stress and sleep deprivation.
Your doula is also there for your partner who may have many questions about how to best support you during this transitional time. She is also able to provide time for siblings who are also adjusting to the many changes. Your doula can sit with baby to allow mother / sibling interactions to take place. A time that is often over looked and missed by both sibling and mom.
A doula is your PEACE OF MIND factor.
