EXPRESS Childbirth Education

This express class emphasize preparation for natural childbirth, informed decision making, and joyful parenting. Families planning home or hospital births are welcome. Classes are small, fun and informative and will provide you will tools to increase you success for a natural birth. Making friends, sharing concerns and answering questions are always a priority.

Receipt and Certificate of Completetion provided. Most insurance companies will reimburse you for 80-100% of any childbirth preparation class taken at Cradle.

Class covers:

• all aspects of pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum

• the anatomy and physiology of late pregnancy

• the physical and emotional elemnts of the labor and birth process

• signs and stages of labor

• common complications and options for dealing with them as well as techniques for promoting positive communication with your midwife or OB

• when to contact your cargiver in labor

• a focus on natural coping methods such as relaxation, breathing and massage with opportunities to practice them

• basic breastfeeding, newborn care and early parenting

• basic information about pharmaceutical methods of pain relief and cesarean will be briefly discussed
