Ann Buscemi, ICCE, CHT, CD
Working with families throughout the Pioneer Valley before during and after their births has been my job, my passion, my delight for over 17 years. As a childbirth educator, a birth and postpartum doula, a certified hypnotherapist and author of the program Deep Relaxation for Pregnancy Birth and Beyond©, I have always advocated for women and their families. The premise of all of my work is each individual’s right to informed consent, which is, at its very best, supporting women and families as they explore and choose care providers, hospitals, and classes, write wish-list/ birth plans, and programs that support all aspects of their individual journey to birth and beyond. Knowing they have the right to ask questions-to advocate for themselves.
I am certified to teach through The International Association of Childbirth Educators. My doula certifications came through DONA, Doulas of North America. My certification in hypnotherapy is with New England Ethical Hypnosis Institute. I am a member of The National Guild of Hypnotists and The International Association of Counselors and Therapists.
It is thrilling to see our community changing-and the different programs that now bridge the gaps that have been in our community for way too long. So many opportunities are now available to families. To be a part of Cradle is to offer what I love most. It is the opportunity to work with and to embrace and support families with my experience and classes. I also offer individual sessions as a certified hypnotherapist to offer skills for the life-change that pregnancy and birthing moves us to and through. The transition is profound, and often we need help with the new challenges upon us.
Three words that I hold near and dear in my life, and certainly profess to the families that I work with are, open, flexible and patient. In our crazy busy need- to-know-and-have and do-it-all world, I believe that I impart confidence, respect, peace and a deep sense of caring to all of the families that I work with. I never forget what a privilege it is to be invited in, to touch and to be a part of their lives, as they move through their astounding, empowering pregnancy and birthing process.
